some afternoon silliness

I had so much fun playing with mommy today. After my nap...we were BOTH being just a little bit silly!

Vegtable Beef Soup

Sheri and I enjoyed some warm soup on a cold wintery day. We had Vegtable soup and I told her I would get her the recipe...so here it is, for Sheri and anyone else who would like the try the recipe!

Vegtable Beef Soup
1 # ground beef (I used gr. turkey)
1 T. oil
1 c. carrots
1/2 c. sliced onion
1/2 c. sliced celery
2 T flour
1 (13 3/4-14 1/2 oz) can beef broth (I just use 1.5 cups of hot water with 2 beef boullion cubes)
1 (14 oz) can italian or mexican tomatoes (I used italian)
1 can water
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
salt & pepper
1/2 cup frozen peas (I forgot to add these today...sometimes I will sub corn or green beans...whatever I have)
2 T parsley (this seems like a whole lot of parsley...I just add some to taste)

Brown beef in soup pan. Remove beef with slotted spoon. Add oil to pan, add carrots, onion, celery. Cover and cook about 5 minutes. Stir in 2T flour. Cook 1 minute. Add beef broth, tomoatoes (with juice), water, and beef. Add seasoning, bring to a boil, cook gently for a half hour. Stir in peas and parsley, cook for a few more minutes.

Enjoy!

Playdate Fun

I enjoyed a chance to play with my friends Amelia and Addison today. As always we had lots of fun! Amelia and Addison especially loved looking in the mirror. We played music on the drum and xylephone, and I took them exploring all over my house. Here are some pics for you to enjoy:

Playing in the snow with Mommy & Daddy

It's been so cold outside...but today finally warmed up a little bit, so Mommy and Daddy took me out to play in the snow for a little bit. Daddy made a snowman (while we watched) and Mommy and I played leap frog in the snow. And of course..Mommy just had to get some pictures...

"Uh Oh Baby"

I just learned how to say "Uh Oh" and before you know it...I'm reading my favorite book "Uh Oh Baby" with mommy and daddy. Everytime we read it...I lift the flap and say "Uh Oh". Mommy says I'll be ready for kindergarten in no time!
This is just a silly book I must have picked up at a garage sale for 10cents...so I just let Hannah have it...of course it is the one that has turned into her favorite! It is very loved already and Seth and I can read it with our eyes closed. It's jsut so cute to hear her say "uh oh" on every page...yeah for predictable books!

drummer girl

I had fun making my own version of a drum set this week. Mommy and I tried this a few months ago...but I just ate the wooden spoon and choked myself with it. This week...I had lots of fun playing the drums!

Playdate with the Ohly girls

On Friday...Mommy and I spent the morning at church playing catchup...
After Mommy got some work done, she took me to the Ohly's house and I had so much fun playing with my friends Amelia, Addison, and Olivia. We played and played. Addison and I chased each other around the house a little...and Olivia gave me lots of hugs and kisses. Sheri made dinner for Mommy and I since Daddy was away. She makes great mashed potatoes!
Addison, Hannah, Amelia
Olivia lovin' on Addy
I love playing with my friend Olivia!!

Time with Grandma while Daddy was in Russia

Mommy and I missed Daddy so much while he was in Russia and are so glad to have him home! While he was away we went to Ohio and spent some time with Grandpa and Grandma Roth. I said some new words and had a great time while I was there!

I loves playing with balloons with Grandma & Aunt Beth

Hugs and kisses for Raggedy Ann. I have been giving kisses for while now...but just recently started hugging my dolls.

My first bath in the sink...so much fun!

Standing under Grandma's table

Just some cute pics of baby in a basket

I LOVE Grandpa & Grandma's puppies. They have 3 dogs...Buddy, Jake, & Summer. The one in the picture is Summer. I loved playing with her. While I was staying at Grandpa & Grandmas house I started saying "OOF OOF" to the puppies.
I also started saying "UH-OH" last Sunday. I love to drop things from my high chair and say "UH-OH" when they fall to the floor.

growing up so fast!

I'm growing up so fast! Monday, while Daddy was in his elders meeting, I was home with Mommy. She turned her back for a minute...and up the stairs I went. She knew right where to find me...but didn't take time to snap a picture this time. I'm pretty sure she was just thanking Jesus that I didn't fall DOWN the stairs after I climbed up them. She says I'm turning into a little monkey. The same night...Mommy was giving me a bath and discovered that my bottom teeth are finally breaking through. THEN....when Daddy came home (I was still in the bathtub) I was so excited to see him that when he walked through the door I said "DADDY" as clear as day! I made mommy and daddy both cry! They say that I'm growing up right before thier eyes

Little Drummer girl

I got a few musical instruments from Mommy and Daddy for Christmas...I just love music..and it's just a fun to make music myself. I love to play my drum and watch the lights flash on top. Hope you enjoy this video of me making some music! Mommy esp. loves the part where I shake my fist when she says "yeah"!

a weekend with Grandma & Papa

Mommy and Daddy took the teens up north to Camp Barakel for snow camp this weekend. So, I got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Papa! They kept me nice and warm while Mom and Dad froze! Mommy found out on Wed. that she couldn't bring me...so she quick made plans for me to spend the weekend in Ohio and it worked out great! Papa and Pastor Jamison were shopping and Cabelas in Dundee, MI..so we just met up with them on Friday afternoon in Ann Arbor. They took me home to Ohio...and even changed my diaper and gave me a bottle! While I was there I got to spend some more time with Uncle Adam before he went back to school in Alabama, I got to see my Great Nana and Papa and Great Aunt Sue, go to church at Meadowbrook Baptist (where I saw my friend Caleb), and spend time with Uncle Cody & Aunt Erica. As you can see...I am a very busy...and loved little girl. We met up with Mommy and Daddy at Cracker Barrel in Perrysburg, OH on Sunday...and I was glad to be back in my own crib after a busy weekend. Thank you Grandma and Papa for taking such good care of my while Mommy and Daddy were away!

Good-bye 2008 hello 2009

We had a great time ringing in the new year with our friends Jeff & Amber and Marian & Narcisa. Hannah was with us for a little while...but after 9:00 she was peacefully asleep in Jeff & Ambers room. We watched Shrek 2, played games, and just hung out. What an encouragment it was to bring in the new year with dear friends!
As always there are so many things I want to accomplish in this new year. I love having a fresh start! I hope to be able to read through the New Testament this year, establish some discipline and structure in my mornings (Hannah has made this a little more difficult), and start a scrapbook for Hannah. While at snow camp this weekend, I was challenged to remember that I can try all I want...but can't do any of this on my own strength. Praying that the Lord will guide me through each day and draw me closer to Himself in this new year.

Rubber Duckie you're the one....

...you make my bathtime lots of fun!

I just love bathtime with my rubber duckies from Uncle "J"

almost as good as my binki
all smiles at bathtime!

visiting Popo

My great-grandpa (popo) is recovering from a stroke. We were able to visit him on one of his last days in rehab. He is doing very well and we praise the Lord for the progress that he has made. Here are some pics of me bringing him a little sunshine:

Lotsa love and Kisses

Hannah loved spending time with her Grandma over Christmas. I just love how these pics really caught the moment!

I'm not sure if she is waving "hello" or playing "so big" but it's still just so cute!

And..some love for her momma too...

Hannah's kisses are a big wide mouth with her tounge sticking out...gotta love it!!
my baby and I...

Rasberries with Uncle Tim

Uncle Tim always finds a way to play with me and get me excited. I had so much fun blowing raspberries with him!!

Roth family Christmas

We arrived at my parents house just in time for Christmas dinner. It was so great to work it out to be with both families ON Christmas day this year. Mom made a delicous ham dinner with cheesy potatoes, rice, corn, and rolls. After dinner we enjoyed opening presents. It was Hannah's bedtime...so she opened her presents later.

Uncle Jeremy was so excited to hold his little niece!

Everyone helped Hannah open the present that they gave her. Hannah got rubber duckies from Jeremy (a mommy and her babies)....she absolutely loves them!

Fun books from Grandpa & Grandma.

Gears from Aunt Beth and Uncle Adam

Great lego blocks from Grandpa & Grandma~ she loved putting them in and out of the container

On Saturday night we all went to the Barn restaurant in Wooster for dinner. Seth and I celebrated our engagement with our parents here...so it will always be a special place for us. Here are some pics of Hannah enjoying her first dinner at the barn. Hannah had vegtable soup & blueberry bread and loved it!

We missed being in our own church on Sunday...but always like the chance to visit other chruches when we are on vacation. Seth, Hannah and I went to Parkside church in the morning. We really enjoyed the service and were challenged to read through the New Testament in this new year.
