Pumpkin Carving

Grandma got Hannah the book "The Pumpkin Patch Parable". A great book about a farmer growing and carving his pumpkin with scripture on every page. We read the story together then started carving Hannah's pumpkin. She was a little more brave this year and was willing to stick her hand in to pull out the seeds, but still thought it felt pretty yucky.
we decided to carve our pumpkin just like the Farmers with two triangle eyes, a square nose, and big smile!
Hannah is so excited about her pumpkin and hoping that he will bring lots of smiles.
Isaac slept through pumpkin carving...but I had to throw in this cute pic of him!

How we deal with the sniffles

When the weather is 70 degrees one day and 50 the next, you know that cold season is here. Hannah has had a cold most of this past week (can you see it in her eyes..poor baby). One thing that she loved while she was sick was a warm drink. In this pic, she was enjoying some warm apple cider from her big girl mug. She's also been lovin' hot green tea. I love to sit and sip a warm cup of coffee with her, and of course, I love being able to give her anything that will make her feel just a little bit better.

Kitty Love

Hannah LOVES her kitty...and I'm pretty sure he's starting to love her too!
Here are some cute shots I got of the two of them.
She loves to read to him...
and at the end of the day, they crash together. Whoever said that cats aren't loyal?

1 month well baby visit

We headed to the doctor today for Isaac's one month well baby check up, and Hannah came along because she was complaining of her ear hurting. With the exception of their colds (Hannah was so sweet to share hers with Isaac) they were both given a clean bill of health.
I could not believe how much Isaac has grown in just one month!

Height: 23 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (75th percentile)

Is this really my child? :)
We thank God for a happy/healthy/growing baby!

Isaac @ 6 weeks

and here is my sweet yet a little bit ornery (can't you see it in her eyes?) two year old :)

zoo boo 2010

The zoo boo this year was so much fun. We weren't sure if we were going to get rained on or not...but the rain held off and the weather was just right!
Mom and Dad F. came to visit for the weekend. They offered to stay home with Isaac, so we were able to enjoy some Daddy/Mommy time with Hannah at the zoo!

Hannah was so tired from our visit with friends earlier in the day that she fell right asleep in the car, and even started our zoo boo adventure out a little sleepy.

It didn't take her long to wake up and enjoy the fun though!

We started our walk out with some Tim Hortons hot chocolate...yum!
there were carved and painted pumpkins all over the zoo for us to enjoy!

next stop was the hay maze...here are two little toddlers that weren't very excited about getting their pictures taken...again.
there were treat stations all through our walk.
another fun year at the zoo boo!

Birthday Buddies!

On Saturday, we had the chance to have enjoy some time with our friends Cliff and Ali and their beautiful family. We were able to meet their newest addition, little Josiah. Ali and I were pregnant at the same time. Even though she was due a few weeks after me, Josiah decided to come early and our boys share the same birthday! It's been very encouraging to share stories, ideas, and just encourage each other as we are going through all the lovely newborn phases with our boys at the same time.

they are just about the same size!

First Smile

Isaac smiled for the first time on Tuesday. I've been trying to catch it on camera since and finally got a pic of his adorable smile today. Someone once told me that smiles are how a baby says "I love you". His little smile will keep me going...love my baby boy!

Fall school

Remember our fall walk? Well...here's what we did with some of our findings:
Hannah made this beautiful fall collage. I believe this was her first time using Elmer's glue..she did a great job!
We made a fall math game. Hannah rolls the dice. She counts the number of dots and puts that many acorns on the fall leaf mat that she colored. She loves her math game and has been playing it all week!

Isaac @ 5 weeks

First Bottle

Thankfully, Isaac has took to nursing very well. Now that he is a little over month old, we thought it would be a good time to introduce the bottle. We gave him a bottle of mommy's milk yesterday and he drank it all up! Baby bottle=Mommy's freedom. :) I don't love being away from my babies...but it is good to know that if I have to leave him (or need a little mommy break) I can. :)

more fall fun

Yesterday, we enjoyed another beautiful fall day together. I told Seth that I felt like maybe one of these days we should stay home and do some work around the house...but we both agreed that some quality family time was more important. The work will be there when we get back..and it was too beautiful of a day to be inside.
This was a Halloween festival at a nearby park: Hannah enjoyed putt-putt along with some other games.
We went on a hay ride together...and we were both thrilled to spend the day with Daddy!

Wonderful Neighbors

This afternoon, as I was the midst of making dinner, caring for my toddler (who is very hungry for attention these days :)) and infant- I looked up at the front door to see my neighbor Lily's smiling face. I went to greet her and she asked if Hannah could go for a wagon ride with her sweet little boy. She came at just the right time! I quickly got her shoes and coat on her and they were off..what a blessing! She knew just what I needed and at just the right time! By the time they got back, dinner prep was done and the house was picked up! I'm so thankful for wonderful neighbors!

Baby snuggles

I love newborn snuggles! And...can I just say I love my moby wrap? While Hannah took her nap today, Isaac snuggled with me in the moby while I got some things done around the house...this was my view. I'm soaking in all of these precious moments, trying to enjoy each one because I know they go by so quickly! What a gift!

A Fall Walk

Hannah and I have been reading fall books and talking about fall/autumn this week. Today we went for a fall walk to find signs of fall.

Isaac rode in the stroller and she ran most of the way...so excited!
She found leaves of all different colors and sizes...

acorns and helicopter seeds.
We both loved this beautiful red tree. I asked her if I could get her picture by it and she came up with this pose idea herself...I'm so glad she did! We will be framing these for sure!
