We officially have a walker

I'll tell you what...this little guy is growing so fast.  This week he went from taking steps to being an official walker.  He is all over the place and having so much fun.  

He was too cute playing with this little bus yesterday...he pushed it all the way around the circle in our house.  

 Then he decided that was enough crawling...and started walking around with it

Welcome Sweet Baby Cal!

 We had a wonderful, unexpected surprise this weekend.  Cody and Erica came for a visit with...baby Cal!! We were SO excited to get to meet him.  He was born a week and an half ago...but for various reasons, we weren't able to get down to see him in the hospital.  We were SO excited and surprised when Erica called and asked if they could come stay for the weekend.  We enjoyed baby snuggles and getting to hang out with the newest member of our family!  He's such a tiny little bundle of joy..we thank God for him!!

Children are a blessing from the Lord.  What a joy it is to see our family growing...we love you Cal!

Beginning Steps!

Over the past few weeks Isaac has been learning how to take steps, usually two or three at a time.  Yesterday, he took 20 steps across the kitchen.  This video is from today...a few steps...get's himself back up....and takes a few more.  This boy is going to be all over the place in NO time!

We got these books from the library this week.  Hannah and Isaac both loved them..and wouldn't you believe I found them at a mom to mom sale this morning for 50 cents each.  Isaac sat on Hannah's lap while she read to him...quite a precious moment.

Fishing with Daddy

I think I'm going to give up on trying to catch up and just start fresh today.  I may do some "rewind posts" here and there.  But the purpose of my blog is to keep our family in tune with what we are doing and what the kids are up too..not what they were up to 2 months ago :)  I do love having the record of the kids growth on here...so hopefully I'll catch up someday.  But it sure is harder to keep up with a blog with two little ones to care for, so we'll see :)

Anyway,  TODAY....Hannah got to have a morning date with her Daddy.  They went to a fishing derby at a local park.  Although they didn't catch any fish, they sure had fun being together.  Hannah loves getting to ride in Daddy's car and just hang out with him. Our Little One Year Old

It's so hard to believe that my little baby boy is already a year old!  We made it and sure enjoyed all the changes that the first year brings.  It's been fun to watch his little personality develop and see him grow into a little person.  He brings so much joy and blessing to our home..we thank the Lord for our little Isaac Michael.  Here's just a little bit of what he's up to right now:  

He is great at communicating with sign language.  Here are some of the signs he knows: Hot, night-night, bird (his favorite), all done, Dada, apple, more (I think he has forgotten this one lately though),  doggie, milk, bunny, again

words:  kitty, Dada, Mama

He loves animals, especially birds and dogs.

Has great gross motor skills:  He...climbs a flight of steps, climbs up in small chairs,  takes up to 3 steps (should be walking any day), has a unique crawl...although he can crawl normally, and does, he often is found crawling around on his hands and toes...he must not like the way the floor feels on his knees, stand by himself, cruises along furniture, loves to play ball, graduated from his high chair at about 11 months because he kept crawling out of it (even though he was buckled)....he now sits in his booster buckled with the tray on, not one for sitting still or being held for long periods of time...just loves to be on the go!

Favorite food:  peaches, apples, pasta

Nicknames:  Bubby, Ikey

Favorite books:  animal touch and feel books

Favorite songs:  This Little Light of Mine, You Are My Sunshine..just loves music.  Loves to bop or sway when he hears music come on.

Animal sounds:  sheep, dog, horse

Just for fun:  Makes "indian sounds" with hands over mouth, pretends to talk on the phone, gives lots of open mouth kisses, LOVES his sissy...they esp. love to laugh and giggle together, is becoming attached to his winnie the pooh blanket lovey (blog post to come), loves to ride in the stroller, is very vocal...loves to hear his voice, loves to wave bye-bye, and nods head yes to answer questions.

About 18 pounds, wears size 3 diapers (if he's not in cloth :)), wears size 12 month clothes, and size 2 shoes, has 6 teeth...two on bottom and all 4 coming in at the same time on the top...what a trooper!  :)

I'm sure that I'm forgetting so much, but there's just a little bit about our sweet little boy.  Thank you Lord for Isaac Michael!!
