Philip and Rebecca's Wedding

This is such a special couple!  Rebecca was a senior in the youth group when we first arrived at FBC.  We hit it off right away and have been friends since.  It's neat to see how God brought Rebecca and Philip together and w look forward to seeing how He will used them for His glory.

Getting Married

Hannah is getting really good at pretend play. Lately, her mind has been on weddings. She loves to hold her Daddy's arm and say "let's get married"...then they walk together arm in arm.

she also loves to throw the hearts that she threw in David and Jessica's wedding!

David & Jessica's wedding day

It was a privilege to be a part of David and Jessica's special day. David is one of our former teens...can't believe he's married! David is so special to us, and we've enjoyed getting to know Jessica. We are excited that they will be living here in the area to get to know her better and spend time with them as a couple.

The wedding was beautiful! The Lord blessed them with a beautiful, sunny day. The church looked so pretty decorated in green and purple. We were blessed to be able to share in David and Jessica's special day!

Hannah did a great job as the flower girl. She walked down the aisle and threw little hearts that were in her basket as she did. When she got to the front, she walked right up to David, looked up at him, and threw hearts on the ground right in front of him.

Hannah and the little ring bearer both loved getting to walk with each other. Hannah held his hand as the bridal party walked out of the sanctuary...she also thought it was great to hold his arm during pictures...they were both pretty fond of each other!

David & Jessica's practice

Tonight was the practice for Mr. David and Ms. Jessica's wedding. I had fun practicing my job as the flower girl. Right when we got to church, I decided that I should start practicing my walk up and down the aisle. So that's just what I did while we waited for everyone else to arrive. I am very excited about my basket full of hearts, and practiced throwing them on the floor as I walked down the aisle. Everyone is hoping that I'll remember to do that tomorrow too :) Tomorrow, I get to walk down the aisle (after the wedding) with Ms. Jessica's nephew Logan. He held my hand tonight and walked me out of the church...everyone said that we were so cute together!

We ended the evening at Mr. David's house. I had yummy pizza and pasta for dinner. Then Mr. Jon let me sit on his motorcycle!

As I was going to bed tonight, I prayed for Mr. David and Ms. Jessica. I said "Dear God, please help them to get married"...mom and dad thought that was pretty cute. I'm excited to get to be a part of their special day!

Josh and Katies Wedding Day

We had the joy and honor of celebrating the marriage of Josh and Katie yesterday. Josh and Katie are both former teens from our youth group and have become dear friends of ours. It has been a joy to watch them grow in their love for the Lord and each other over the years. Seth and I both enjoyed doing marriage counseling with them over the past few months and getting to know them better as a couple. It's always so exciting to see two people that love the Lord bring their lives together. Can't wait to see what God has in store for this couple!

Their wedding day was just perfect! Katie looked beautiful...the decorations and the church were beautiful...and most importantly, I know that God was honored through their day.

Seth had the great honor of getting to officiate the wedding ceremony (his first wedding!). He did a wonderful job! Hannah was one of the flower girls and walked down the aisle perfectly. It was so special to be a part of Josh and Katie's day!

who is suppose to be the one on bed rest?! I'm so thankful that my doctor gave me the okay to be at the wedding.

I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I would have normally (it's hard to take pictures when you have to stay off your feet)...and actually, I'm not very happy with the quality of some of the pictures that I did get...time to invest in that new camera.

Josh and Katies rehersal

Tomorrow is the big day for Josh and Katie. We are SO excited for them! We feel so honored to have a special part in their wedding. Seth is going to perform the ceremony and Hannah is one of their flower girls. I had the joy of joining in with the marriage counseling too. They are such a wonderful godly couple...it's exciting to see the Lord bring them together in marriage! We've loved watching them grow in their love for the Lord and for each other over the years.

Tonight was the rehearsal. I was so scared to call the doctor to get the okay for the wedding because I didn't know what she would say..but she approved me going...praise the Lord! So...I went ahead and went to the rehearsal this evening too. I stayed in a pew or a seat almost the whole time...which was hard to do..but was glad to be there! Our friends Jeff and Amber were there tonight too which worked out great. Jeff ended up helping with the sound and Amber helped me with Hannah. She got her to where she needed to go and chased her if she ran off. What a great help she was!

The first run through...Hannah did great walking down the aisle. She walked nice and slow about 3/4 of the way down...then yelled "daddy!" and ran the rest of the way.

the second run through, Jade (the other flower girl) was there. She took Jades hand and led her in between the pews. Hopefully, she won't lead Jade astray tomorrow :)

Seth did an awesome job tonight! Between his good leadership and Katies great organization...everything went so well!

so...so thankful for my wonderful friend, Amber. She's a blessing to my life in so many ways!

Josh and Katie were so generous to our family. They gave Hannah some great bath toys and a lovely wooden puzzle set. They gave Seth and I gift cards for shopping, eating out, and going out for coffee...along with the promise to babysit so that we can have a date night...what a treat!

Our Wedding Day

This week the "Completing Him Challenge" is to remember the day that you were married, and share the story. What an appropriate time for us...as we were married exactly 7 years ago today. As it is on every June 21st, it was the first day of summer...and such a gorgeous day! It was 75 degrees and sunny and the day was perfect in every way. We had a simple wedding, but many told me that it was most fun wedding that they had ever been to. I'm thankful for all the people that pitched in to help make our day so special!
We took our pictures before the ceremony (I highly recommend this if you are reading this and not yet married). Seth met me in the sanctuary...we had a few moments together..which was so good for me...he definitely helped calm my nerves. Then we started taking pictures. The rest of the day just flew!
The only things that fell through the cracks were: I forgot to designate someone to be in charge of handing out corsages and pinning on boutineers...so when I should have been in the nursery waiting, I was out helping pass out flowers. And...the candles in the windows never got lit...that was it.

We had a lovely ceremony and the reception followed at the church. We had lots of cake and had an ice cream truck (not the kind that plays music coming down your street) outside where the guests could get soft serve ice cream. We had a fabulous day and will always look back on our day with great memories.

We honeymooned in Estes Park, Colorado. Both of us were so excited for a trip out west and had a wonderful time together in the mountains!
