Sorting Laundry

One of the things that I love about our new house is having 1st floor laundry..and I'm enjoying the front load washing machine too.  It's been easy to involve the kids in helping with laundry this way.  Here they are learning how to sort the laundry into darks, lights, and whites. 

 They help put the soap in and then love to watch their jammies go round and round.  

For the love of shoes

Isaac LOVES shoes.  He loves to put them on and take them off and especially loves to try on others shoes...especially his sisters.  He loves to go "bye bye" and will make sure that everyone has their shoes so that we can go.  Here he is bringing mommy her crocs...what a great little helper :)

Spring Flowers

The kids have loved helping me in the garden this year.  Hannah and I bought some gladiola bulb and put them in back in April.  They are coming up nicely now and she is so excited...we can't wait to see what colors we get!  She did almost all of the work herself!  

 And of course, Isaac wanted to join in the fun  

Mommy's Little Helper

 Hannah is becoming more and more of a little helper around the house.  

Here she is "helping" me cut out coupons.  She loves cutting with scissors...so this is a favorite activity!

Helping Mom Water Flowers

Hannah loves helping me water the flowers. She enjoys using her own Hannah size watering can and loves the color pink too. She has her own flowers on the steps...I need to get a picture of her watering those, but for now, here she is watering my beautiful mothers day basket of flowers.

Grocery Shopping

Usually Monday is grocery day, but we spent the morning with my friend Laura and her little girl Stacia yesterday..so today was the day! As we were leaving for Aldi I grabbed my re-usable shopping bags just like always, and Hannah decided that she wanted to bring a bag too. She has a Hello Kitty bag that is the same material as the reusable shopping bags, so we emptied it out and brought it
along. At Aldi, we bag our own groceries..she was very excited to pick out the groceries that she wanted to put in her bag to bring home. She picked canned chicken, cake mix, jello, and cream cheese (because it had a picture of bagels on the package). She had fun bagging them up and carrying her bag to the car and into the house. What a big helper!

Helping Mommy clean

I love to be Mommy's little helper. As you know, there are already several things that I do to help out around the house. I love to help Mommy vacuum, handing her the clothes pins when she hangs laundry on the line, and helping her with laundry.

My new favorite job is dusting. Mommy gave me a cloth and I did the work myself.

and...as usual Mommy and I ended by laughing and giggling with each other...we have so much fun together!

Mommy's Little Helper

Hannah has been helping me put laundry in the washing machine and taking it out of the dryer for a while now. I usually hand it to her and she puts it where it goes. Today, she started pulling the clothes out of the dryer herself...so cute! After the dryer is empty and the basket is full she pushes it out of the laundry room..then as a reward for helping...she gets to ride in the basekt while mommy pushes her across the room. Fun times doing chores here at our house! :)

Mimicking Housework

I bought Hannah this baby sweeper with her birthday money. Teri gave me the idea..and I thought that it would be a great way to involve her in "helping with the housework". I was so excited when I brought it home...but Hannah was so scared of it. I had never seen her scared of anything before, but when I would turn it on, she would run over to me, cry, and squeeze me tight. We left it out with the toys so that she could see it but didn't really play with it for a while. I pulled it out again the other day...she still doesn't car for the sweepers voice, but if I keep it turned off, she enjoys pushing it and helping me vacume. Here's my little helper:

It seems appropriate to quickly write about one of the things I love for Things I Love Thurday in this post. I LOVE my shark vacume sweeper! My wonderful mother-in-law bought this for me for Christmas. I use it multiple times a day...what a great gift! It's wonderful because it doesn't plug in, so I just keep it in my front closet and can quickly sweep up the messes that happen throughout the day. It plugs in to charge (but keeps a charge for a long time) and emptys with the click of a button. I can use it on floors and carpet...such a great tool for busy moms!
