A Day with Joshua

We had the joy of having sweet Joshua with us for a morning this week.  Hannah and Joshua have been friends since before they were walking...it's been fun to watch them grow together!  After a day of playing hard....Hannah said "I wish Joshua could come play everyday!"

With a baskets in hand..we went for a leaf hunt
We found big ones, small ones, ones with jagged edges and smooth edges, and all different colors.

Friends!!

When we got inside we read books about fall leaves and identified the different kinds of leaves that we found.
and we warmed up with some hot cooca
 We sponge painted fall trees.
Thank you, Joshua for coming to play with us...please come again real soon!!

A Fall Family Weekend

We enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend with my family.  The kids enjoyed dressing up in their costumes on several occasions.  We started out at a grocery store for trick or treating.

The little Puppy
Ariel and Flounder
Best shot I could get of all 3 cousins
Hannah was thrilled to see Cheer Bear there
This was my birthday weekend.  My request was to be with my family.  It's been a while since I've been with them on my birthday....so it was a treat for sure.  On Saturday, Beth and Adam watched the kids so Seth and I could go out for dinner.  We went to a Japanese steak house...the food was wonderful!  On Sunday we had birthday dinner (thanks Beth) and were able to celebrate some of the November birthdays too.
It's hard to believe that Ethan will be two this week!  He's growing so fast...it's so much fun to watch.  He's learning more and more words and expresses himself so well.  He knows and loves each member of the family...it's so cute!  Hannah loves her cousin and they played SO well together!!  She had so much fun decorating his present.  Didn't she do a great job writing his name?  She did it all by herself...I just told her the letters.
 Ethan loved his zoo set.
We ended up joining Ethan for trick or treating on Sunday evening.  We loved watching Adam and Beth use this as an opportunity to spend a few minutes with each of their neighbors.  They introduced themselves to the ones that they hadn't met and reconnected with others.  I was even surprised to see my high school chemistry teacher :)
our little flounder...he rode in the wagon holding candy in his hands the whole time.
Ethan loved this puppy.  But both his mom and dad agree...that it's best to just enjoy someone else's pet :)
 what a life...

Fall outdoor play

Knowing that the days are getting colder, we have been trying to get outside for a least a few minutes each day.  We also know that the fresh air is good for our physical and emotional well being.  We love being out in God's creation...seriously...love the colors and the crisp air!  Here are some pics of the kids soaking up the times outside.
He loves the car...
Trying to keep up with Sissy can be quite the task...go Isaac go!

Pumpkin Carving

Hannah wanted to carve a sad pumpkin this year.  Daddy did his best to make a pumpkin face that was sad for Hannah but still cute for Mommy.  It turned out pretty cute, and we had fun doing it!

Excited to get started!
She did not want to put her hand in...Daddy finally helped her be brave...
 Isaac's turn
he liked playing with the insides and the seeds

Isaac does this knee sit often.  He likes to bring a book and plop right on our knee....it was cute to see him get interested in what Hannah and Daddy were doing.  He walked over and plopped right down on Daddy's knee.
